Finally Internet At Home

While finally after two years of using my friends and hot spots to get online, I have internet at my house. I have been working on getting the connection to work for the since Thursday morning. I have learned that AT&T's customer service sucks. It is one of those times you get the feeling that you know more then the person who is suppose be helping you. I am glad that my mentor used to work work the phone company and knows how to get things working and who to call when he does not know.

I know I said this a lot of late but I hope to post more and better posts now with having the internet at home. Jo Anne and I are thankful for all those who follow Mountain Highs and Valley Lows. We enjoy doing our posts and reading your comments. While March have been a long and tiring month. I need to get off now to get a little sleep before more overtime at work.

Beautiful Days Of Spring

It has been hard to head to work with it being so nice outside. Spring is here. The weather is warm and the flowers and tree are starting to bloom. Even with the rain this pass weekend it still turned out to be good to do things outside. Soon it will be time to head out to the swim holes to go swimming. Enjoy hikes in the woods. I am only hoping that we get Jo Anne's Visa soon so we can enjoy the beautiful area that I live in together. This weekend, I am planning another trip down to Marion, North Carolina to see my aunt if I do not have to work.

I have been so attempted to get outside and lay out in the sun and start working on my tan. I have been working little by little on some home improvement projects around my home. I hope to use some of the extra money from the little overtime I have got at work for these projects. I still need to save more money for getting Jo Anne here but the home improvement things will help make our life more enjoyable.

Even with it being hard to go to work with it being so nice out it is work that makes it possible to do the things I enjoy to do and want to do. I am hoping for a great and enjoying summer. I am looking forward to my upcoming trip to the Philippines to get Jo Anne once the last approval is completely done.

A Relaxing Weekend

This weekend, I worked a little more on my Grave A Day Project on my other blog, Spiritual Places, Spiritual Moments. Saturday, I had a enjoyable ride through the southern part of Henderson County North Carolina. I was happy to see the the Green Family has rebuilt their gas station in Tuxedo, North Carolina that burned back in February of 2011. They are calling Rocoe's after Rocoe Green, who opened the gas station. Besides, that is what the locals called the gas station any way. I am looking forward to seeing the fireworks on the Fourth of July. Visited four cemeteries on Saturday but I did miss the one I wanted to go to the most. I missed the turn off for it. I stopped at the city cemetery in Hendersonville on Sunday afternoon after washing my clothes to look for a couple dates I am missing.

I believe I am just about catch up on where I want to be on the project. I just need to finish preparing the post for the blog. Next weekend, if things work out I may head down to Marion, North Carolina to visit my aunt. I need to drop off some money so my aunt and uncle can come up to see my mother for Easter. This time, I will make sure that the battery for my camera is fully charged so I can take more pictures. The last trip down, I thought I had my battery charged but when I got my camera out to take some pictures the battery died on me. I hope this upcoming trip will be more productive.

Bubble On My Radiator Hose

Yesterday when I got to work I checked the fluids in my car. I check them when I get to work because it is the only place far enough of a drive in a normal week where the transmission fluid is warn enough to check. After I checked the transmission fluid I looked over the motor of my car and I about freaked out when I saw a big bubble in my top radiator hose. I could not fix it at the time because I had to go to work. After work, one of my coworkers drove with me to Wal~mart to get some tape to put on the hose to help the hose hold until I could make it to the auto parts store in the morning.

I am glad to say the tape work and I brought a new hose this morning. It took me 30 minutes to replace the hose. I feel like, I had to remove half to car just to get to the hose to remove the old hose and put the new hose on. I am glad it was something I could do myself. It seems cars are designed now to where you have to take it to a garage just to do the simple things.

Great Weekend!

While this weekend went real good. On Saturday afternoon, I took the recyclables to the dump. I was surprised at the new setup they have. It had been like 4 or more years since the last time I been out to the Henderson County Transfer Station. It is easier to get in and out and it also easy to sort out the recyclables.

After i got done with the recyclables I drove out to Mills River and took pictures at four different cemeteries. I enjoyed looking at the different graves. One was of a man who fought in the American Revolutionary War and one of the first settlers of the area. I had no luck with the photo request from Find-A-Grave. I had an enjoyable day exploring around Mills River.

This week, I plan to get a washer and dryer for mom. I also plan to get my house setup for the Internet this week. So hopefully this week or next week, I may have a easier time of posting things on my blogs. In the meantime, I will be working on the housework that I am behind on. Maybe it is just me but it seems like if you get behind on housework you stay behind.

Getting Back On The Horse I Hope!

In my last post, I told you that I had been busy helping my mom move into her new place and I hope be getting back to posting regularly. While last Thursday night I got sick and had to leave work early. I spend my weekend laying in bed with my temperature going up and down. I do not get sick very often and I thank God for that. I was planning to work on some of my personal things last weekend and with being sick that was put off again. I have been working overtime most of this week so that will help make up for the lost time.

I feel like I am about three weeks behind on my stuff to do. I had been trying to do a little house work each day this week so that is the cause of some of the lack of posts on Mountain Highs and Valley Lows. I will try to do a little work on my blogs this Sunday afternoon. I have some great ideas for the blog and I hope here in the next couple weeks to develop them some. I have a lot of filing and organization to do at the house. I am still going through the new shipment of books I got to sell on Ebay. I hope to post some book to sell this weekend.

Today, I will be taking my mom's and my recyclable to the dump. After the dump, I plan to go out to a couple cemeteries to get pictures for the 2012 Grave A Day Project of Spiritual Places, Spiritual Moments. I hope to get caught back up on it this weekend.

While, lets see how things go now that I feel better. Now where is this horse I am suppose to get back on?

Helping Mom Move

You may have notice that I have not posted much in the last two week. Mom mom moved into a new apartment two weeks ago. I have been helping her move and also delivering some things that she is did not to other people that she gave things to.

My sister and brother helped and also my friend Seth helped mom move everything from the old apartment and to the new apartment. The move went smoothly and mom loves the new apartment. The new apartment in on one floor and as no stair she has to go up. Also at the new apartment they clear the roads when snow comes. Mom reported a leak in the sink and it was fixed within a couple hours on her reporting in to the office. Also one of her friends live in the same apartments.

This past Saturday, Seth and I headed down to Marion, North Carolina to drop off a rug to my aunt and uncle. I took Rayna with us. Seth and I took Rayna for a walk while at my aunt's house and saw some old cars from the 1950s and 60s in the woods above her house. After our visit with my aunt, Seth and I headed out to get lunch and work a little on the Grave A Day project for Spiritual Places, Spiritual Moments. After eating lunch, we stopped at a church cemetery to take some picture. When I got the camera out and turned it on to take a picture the battery was dead. I had the battery in the charger before leaving on the trip and I guess it did not charge the battery. After looking around the cemetery, Seth and I headed on into Old Fort, North Carolina and went to the Andrews Geyser.

I spent the first several days of this week looking for my camera and notebook. I searched all over mine and my mother's house looking for them. I left it at the restaurant where I met my mentor of Sunday afternoon. I did not recall taking them out while I was there. It drove me crazy looking for them especially the camera. I have a lot of pictures saved on it I what to keep. I use it a lot for the blogs and keep family memories.

A long with the moving, I have been busy at work. We have had some overtime a couple weeks in February. I hope we continue to stay busy at work. I will need the overtime just to pay for the gas to get to work. The high gas prices make things tighter but I have had no problems paying my bills. I only have had to put off some of the things I planned on doing off.

I hope to get the internet setup at my house sometime this month. With that I hope to be able to post more things to Mountain Highs and Valley Lows. My mentor will help we get the house prepared for Internet so all I will need to do is call the phone company to have DSL turned on. Things have been hard for my mentor since the economy took the down turn and he lost his job and he is now self employed. People are still having a hard time and the jobs are not coming in for him. I am glad that I will be able to help him out by having him do the work for me.

I am sure things will get better in the coming months. If you are able to help a neighbor or a friend please do so. It is the everyday people coming together that will pull us through this hard time.
