Fun and Relaxation Plans

Next weekend is Labor Day Week and I should have three days off. I have been thinking from some things to do.

Saturday, I plan to head up to a swim hole that I know on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I wanted to go swimming all summer and this could be my last chance this year. I plan to take my dog, Rayna, and a friend or two with me. I have been wanting to get Rayna to like water enough to swim. This swim hole should be the perfect place to take her.

Sunday will be my day for church and rest. Next Sunday is the start of our Fall Schedule at church.

Monday, I am thinking about taking a road trip. I have always wanted the take US Highway 64 all the ways across North Carolina to the coast. Next Monday, I am only going a couple hours down the road and coming back. I plan to explore the different places along the way. This will be my first road trip in about two years.

I will share about my adventures here. I am looking forward to next weekend and sharing it with you.

Overcoming the Storm

When we talked about storm, we think of thunderstorms or snowstorms. Sometimes in our lives we are facing this kind of storms and standing in the midst is really hard. For those who regularly visited our blog, you guys knew that Daniel and I were engaged for more than a year now. In our relationship, we have been through a lot of trials and we thank God for the strength He gave us. Now, we are facing another storm and I can say this is one of the hardest trials we had. It took him a little longer before he found a good job. It’s hard to be apart from someone you love, we long so much to be together and we planned to start the paperwork for my visa once he started working again. We thought that everything will turn out good now that he had a good job, but things get worst than what we expect. Our heart break into pieces when we heard the bad news that we cannot work on the fiancĂ© visa for some private reason, We can’t explain what we felt because it is more than a physical pain. We both cried when we talked on the phone and trying to think some way we can do in order for us to be together. We have a lot of fears and worries but we thank God for His love that continuously comfort us and bind us together. We are blessed to have our prayer time everyday, it help us a lot and serve as the key why we are still standing firm in the midst of this storm. We keep holding on to God’s promises and we know that everything is under His control. We are thankful for those people who are helping us to find someone who could be my sponsor. God is good and we know that He is working for us and He can make impossible things possible. To all our friends who keep praying for us, thank you very much and please continue to pray for us that we may overcome the storms in our lives.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6

"Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." Mark 11:24

"Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him." Psalm 62:5

Getting Closer To A Permanent Job

There was two more permanent jobs awards this week at work. While I am still a temp worker. The good things is I got a great chance to be hired on permanently with the next job offering. There is a lot of changes going on at work and I have heard that sales are up. They have brought more temps in so that means less overtime but, the pay raise I got a couple weeks ago makes up for that. it will be even better when I get a permanent job.

As for the other things going on in my life, they have been just as busy. We are trying to find someone to sponsor Jo Anne to come to the United States. We hope to find someone soon. My friends and I are sure we can find someone at my church who will be willing to help. My pastor as been doing a sermon series out of the Book of Job, it has been a great encouragement. You can here the sermon online at my church's Media Archive.

My places is looking more like a home now. I brought two sets of shelves for my books. I still needs at least one more. But I have room to move around in my living room now. I will try to organize my front room this week, which I plan to use as a office. Right now, it is more or less a storage room. I thinking a file cabinet and some shelves may help to there too. I stopped by Best Buy one day this week before work and looked at computers. I hope to be able to get a new one soon. The guy working there was very helpful and knowledgeable. Best of all he did not try to up sell me but, tried to help me find a computer that met my needs. Because of that I most likely going there to buy my computer. Once I get the computer, you will see more and better Blog post.

I hope everyone is doing good out there. may God bless all of you greatly in the future.

Sick This Past Week

On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of this past week, I was sick. I ended up going home from work on Tuesday. I was dehydrated to the point I stopped sweating and drinking water made me sick. At that point I was suffering from heat exhaustion. After a hour in the heat of the warehouse, I decided it was best to head on home. My health is more important then the money I may have made by staying. I felt good enough on Wednesday to go back to work. I was happy that they post the sheet for working Saturday on Thursday so I ended the week with one hour overtime for the week. God is great.

When I am at work, I am drinking water all the time. I wear a CamelBak as I work so I drink water without having to stop working to go get water. When work in a hot environment like I do it is very important to keep hydrated. Besides drinking lots of water, you want to take breaks every once in a lot to cool down. If you are working in the heat and you stop sweating, you need to stop and do something to cool down. Sweating is your bodies way of cooling down. Read this for more information about heat exhaustion.
