Time With My Family!

This Thanksgivings Day was the first holiday in years that we had most of the family together. We had dinner at my mother's house. My aunt and uncle came with one of my cousins from out of town. Two of my brothers came and one came with his girlfriend. and mister Mary came with three of her kids. It was good to see and share this time where we came focus on the blessings God has given us.

I did most of the cooking. My sister and aunt helped finish up the cooking when I had to lay down due to a headache the I woke up with that morning. One of my favorite things to do is cook and share food with my family and friends. The turkey turned out great, nice and juicy. We also had the normal things my family has for Thanksgivings Dinner of sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, and macaroni and cheese. I made creamed onions this year. I did not cook the onions all the way but they still turned out okay. A long with the pumpkin, apple, cherry, and sweet potato pies, I made Maja Blanca which is a coconut cake from the Philippines. Everyone one thanked we for the dinner and is still talking about how good it was.

I hope that when can do it again soon. I especially hope that we can get things moving to get Jo Anne here to join us during next years holidays.

Which on Friday, I saw a lot of black. it was the black of the back of my eyes lids. I stayed at my mom's house and slept and eat all day. I was so glad to get a good day of rest in after all the running I have been doing these past several weeks.

On Saturday, I got out and did some shopping. I got a couple Christmas cards for family and friends. I also tried to find the last item for a Christmas gift the I am sending to my friend David in Uganda. I did not find what I was looking for. I have to check the store on Main Street this week or make a trip to Greenville, South Carolina next weekend. I did buy myself a book. I hope the book helps me write more.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas Season and a very Merry Christmas. I hope to do some post series that I am calling the twelve days of Christmas on my favorite things about Christmas and the history and traditions.

I am thankful to have been blessed to have my Love, Jo Anne in my life. I pray that things really get rolling soon for us to be together as husband and wife. Since the day Jo Anne first said hello to me, we have not gone one day without talking to one another in one way or another.

I am thankful for my family. I am glad I get to spend this day with them and cook for them. My mom have been a great help with sharing meal and company with.

I am thankful for my friends. They have encourage me to continue on in many dark times and celebrated with me in the happy times. They have giving me advice. Some have let me use their computers some I can check my e-mail and post things on this Blog.

Financial Peace of Mind

"You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you." Isaiah 26:3

"The sleep of a laborer is sweet, whether he eats little or much, but the abundance of a rich man permits him no sleep."
Ecclesiastes 5:12

The biggest thing people struggle with in life is money or finances. Work hard to earn money and sometimes most people have to work even on Sundays to get more extra income to support their family. Now a days, many people are suffering from financial crisis and keep worrying about their needs. At church this morning, the Pastor talked about "How to have a financial peace of mind", I was so blessed with the message and I thank God because He speaks to me through His word. I want to share the five (5) ways on how we can have a financial peace of mind.

First: Don't make money the most important thing in your life.
(Luke 12:15/Matthew 6:33)
> Our relationship with God and our salvation is the most important thing in our life.

Second: Share your blessings to others (Luke 12:33-34)

Third: Don't be anxious about tomorrow (Matthew 6:31-32)
> We should remember the one who holds tomorrow is the one who holds our life.

Fourth: Think of yourself as God's money manager
(1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
> God can tell us to give or use something for Him anytime.
> We can relax because everything we have is from God.

Fifth: Be thankful to God and enjoy what you have
(Philippians 4:11/Hebrews 13:5)

There are two things that destructs us to have peace of mind and that is fear and envy. Fear of not having enough and envy against others who have more than you do. We must have "faith" that God will supply all our needs and let us rejoice with other people for their success and pray that God will help us to succeed. God is our provider and He knows everything that we need. We always have enough when God is our supply!

Celebration at Work!!!

Yesterday, I had a post birthday celebration at work. I really appreciate the effort of my coworkers to make my day a memorable one. There is no party but instead a simple gathering with some foods that we partake after a prayer. We had spaghetti, steam fish, puto, cake, ice cream, bread, pinaupong manok (chicken) and pineapple juice as our drinks. Everyone seems to be full after eating together and i really enjoyed the bonding time that we had that day. It seems that we spent the whole day eating, laughing and talking with each other while we are taking care of the kids. Even the kids enjoyed the spaghetti too. I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all my coworkers who joined the celebration and for the foods you have shared yesterday as well as to my artistic coworker who made the lettering of my name posted on the wall.

Here are some of our pictures that I would like to share to everyone.

I thank God for my family, friends and of course my Love who made my birthday a special one. Another year of my life, more blessings will come. I will continue to serve the Lord and use my life for His glory.

My Special Day!

Yesterday, I celebrated my birthday and I thank God for another year of my life. God has blessed in many ways, though sometimes I experienced trials but I still consider it as a blessing. I had a great time and enjoyed my day with some friends namely Thess, and Rowena together with Mariz (Thess daughter). We went to SM North City and do some window shopping, then we stayed at KFC to talked with each other and have our dinner. It's good to see Rowena again after a year because she went to Canada to be with her family. How i wish my Love was here to celebrate with me and I am sure he will enjoy to see the different Christmas decors in the mall. Christmas is near and more Christmas lights are hang on that makes the place looks more beautiful and colorful. I hope and pray that I can celebrate my birthday next year with my Love. Here are some of our pictures taken yesterday and I would like to share it with you guys, hope you like it!!

Daylight Savings Ends Tonight!

Just a little reminder to our readers in the United States to set your clocks back a hour before you go to sleep tonight. The better way to remember what to do is fall back a hour in the fall and spring forward in the spring. Enjoy the extra hour of sleep.

Please Vote Today!

If you live in the United States, I encourage you to join me today and vote! No matter who you vote for let your voice be heard! Voting is our duty to our great county and the least we can do for the freedoms we enjoy. It is also the easiest way to protect them. Remember you lose the right to complain if you do not take the simple action to go out and vote.

Stop Running, Start Trusting

"Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like starts in the universe as you hold out the word of life in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing." Philippians 2:14-16

Stop, look and listen!!!
When God whispers we usually ignore and disobeyed Him. The book of Jonah showed how the prophet disobeyed the Lord when he commanded to go to Nineveh to preach to the people. But instead of following Him, Jonah ran away from the Lord and headed to Tarshish. Jonah's disobedience led to a punishment or disciplinary action for what he did. While he was on the ship the Lord send a great wind on the sea and such a violent storm arose that the ship threatened to break up. Jonah knew it is his fault that he was the one to blame because he disobeyed God so he asked the sailors to throw him into the sea and as soon as Jonah's body was in the sea, the storm ceased.Their experienced caused ship's crew to fear God and they offered a sacrifice and made vows to Him. God was not through with Jonah, for he prepared a great fish to swallow him. Jonah was in the belly of the fish for three days and three nights. From within the fish Jonah prayed to God and God heard the prayer of the prophet. Jonah's deliverance brought him to the point of renewed devotion

Let us pause for a while and check ourselves if we are obeying God or still following our own desire. People keep running on responsibilities, commands, tasks and etc. because of fear that they may fail of doing the right thing. If anyone of us are still living in fear, now is the time to cast it out and give your full trust to God. Stop running away from the will of God and start trusting him.

God's plan is always the best.
