Registration for the Processing Center begins on Monday, August 3, 2009. Call 1-800-442-9120, to reserve a time for your family, church, or group. Samaritan's Purse has Processing center for Operation Christmas Child in Atlanta, Georgia; Boone, North Carolina, Charlotte, North Carolina, Denver, Colorado; Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Orange County County, California. All volunteers must be at least thirteen years old to help at the Processing Center.
Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes go to the children in poverty in 95 different countries poverty, all around the world. National Collection Week in the United States is November 16-23, 2009. I will make at least one shoebox this year. If I can find the time, I will help out at one of the Processing Centers. Shoeboxes are collected in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, Australia, and New Zealand.

As I was cleaning out the water system today I got thinking about that we need to do maintenance on our spiritual life. How often do do you do the maintenance on your relationship with God? It is important to spend time in prayer and reading the Bible. Prayer is the way we communicate with God. God gave us the Bible so we can know him and know how to live. The Bible is not a bunch of do not do this or this. Instead the Bible is our guide to living a rewarding life. To have the rewarding life with need to take to time to do maintenance on our spiritual life. We as Christian are like a water system for the living water. The water will not flow or people will not want to drink it if we do not do the right maintenance.
Jesus said to her, "Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." ~ John 4:13-14 (ESV)
As a Christian, are you doing the maintenance you need to do to let the living water flow through you? Do people want the water of eternal life that is welling up in you?

The trip to Carl Sandburg's home was a treat for Rayna. She seems to enjoy checking out new places. I hope to take her back to walk up to the top of Glassy Mountain, which I am sure she will enjoy.

If you have been reading this Blog for a time, you know I am working on getting out of debt. I am so glad that I have been living on a budget. Due to my monthly budgets, I have been able to make it through my period of unemployment without getting behind on my bills. I also had money to pay for emergencies.
In looking at my income now and my bills, I have decided that I need to get a part time job on the side to take care of building my emergency funds up, the Visa, and other things. I will be very busy when school starts in August. At least, my school is paid for and it will help me get a better job later on.
I keep a close eye on where I spend money. Today, I caught another pricing mistake at Wal-mart. I shop at Wal-mart because of the low prices but I am getting tired of the bad service. I am getting to the point that I going to stop shopping at Wal-mart. Aldi, Big Lots, and Ingles may cost more over all but I get better service when I go to their stores. I rather pay more for better service and better quality products. Beside, I can trust the price I see on the shelf at Aldi, Big Lots, and Ingles is what will ring up when I check out. It is harder to find things at Wal-mart then the other stores. It is coming time for me to exercise my choice and spend my money at places that provide the service and products I want.

Blue Ridge Parkway runs for 469 miles (755 kilometers) through the Blue Ridge Mountains and connects the Shenandoah National Park in Virginia and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in North Carolina. Construction on the parkway begun on September 11, 1935. The last section was finish in 1987. I enjoy driving along the parkway and looking at the views at many of the overlooks along the way. One day, I plan to drive the full length of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
The stomach pain he had was from an ulcer. They get that fixed quickly. They black mass in his lungs. In further check they found and removed mucus from his lungs. It was touch and go a couple times over the pass week. We ask that you continue to prayer for him as he continues to recovering at home.

I made a lot of pizzas today. Boy, making pizza in harder then in looks. I did pretty good at learning the pizza and making then today. I could be ready to run solo in a couple weeks.
I will be very busy for the next couple months with work, school, and getting Jo Anne's Visa. I have school all setup and paid for at this time. I start classes in August. I need to save up $455 for the processing fee for Jo Anne's Visa. I have been told by several people that the Visa takes about four months to processes. Of course, there are other things that require money in order to Jo Anne to join me here. Please, join Jo Anne and I in praying that God will provide all the money and other resource we need.
I thank God for the many blessings I have received already and the many he will pour upon me in the future.

Living the Christian life is hard to do sometimes. It is through the difficult times in our life that God makes us more like Jesus. As I read and meditated on the devotional, I got thinking about a rock in a stream. We are like the rock and the water is life. The water carries material that hit the rock and smooths it surface out. These material are the situations in our life.
I also thought about Jo Anne house in the Philippines. The Philippines is hit by many typhoons each year. Her house stands strong through the winds of the storms. God puts us in situations that makes us stronger so we can weather the storms of life. Of course, when a storm is come you need to prepare and after we go through a storm or two we learn how to weather the storm. If we fail to prepare we will not not weather the storm. Like the preparation for the storm, God gave us the Holy Spirit in our lives to prepare for the difficult time in our lives. We will weather the difficult times better the closer we are to the nature of Jesus and with the grace of God.
God has a plan for all of us. He let situations in our lives to prepare us for the job he wants us to do. The reward for seeking God's will in our lives is always greater then the rewards of a worldly life.

The will sort through the picture I took and post they in an album tomorrow. I will link to the album in a post tomorrow. Green's six Oaks does this every Fourth of July. They are located just off Exit 3 on US Highway 25 in Tuxedo, North Carolina.

Our founding fathers worked for years to before declaring their independence from Great Britain. They loved their country, Great Britain as do I love mine, the United Sates. We need to stand up and demand that our government officials listen to us and do what is best for our beloved country. Each day that goes by we see more of the freedoms that we celebrate on this day disappear. It is sad the the Fourth of July, has become nothing more then a day for cookouts and fireworks for some people. Many men and women have risked and given their lives so we can live free from a suppressive government and yet we are just letting the government take over our lives. We have been giving up our God given rights for years and it is time to stop.
Government has its place in our lives. It is the ensure our right of Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. It is our duty to ensure that the government of the United States protects those right. One has the right to live by working hard for his or her family. Liberty is the freedom to live without the Government controlling how we live. When it comes to the pursuit of Happiness, some of our greatest happiest comes after our greatest failures. We as humans are happiest went we have to pursue something not when it is given to us. We have the right to live without the worry that the government will come and take away the things we worked hard to achieve.
We as the United States of America, should be a beacon of freedom to all people of the world. I have been watch the events in Honduras, the people there are fighting for freedom. The military ousted a President who was try to over take the government. They were protecting the people of Honduras' right to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. We should be standing by the people of Honduras, not the dictator want to be. Read La Gringa's Blogicito to read about what is going on in Honduras. While I was in the Philippines, I talked with a couple of Filipinos that wish they were still part of the United States. If we are as bad as so many of our government officials in Washington and the idiots in Hollywood say then why do so many people want to come here and live? Why are they leaving the country that we are trying to become in things are better there?
We should welcome all people into our great country, but they should come here the legal way. They coming here legally ensures they can achieve the American Dream like everyone else. Our willingness to welcome people and give them the freedom achieve their dreams is what has this country great.
I hope you enjoy your Fourth of July. Remember, that the Freedoms we are celebrating today must be defended from people inside and out. Today, is not just a day for cookouts and fireworks. It is a day, to celebrate the light of freedom for the whole world, the United States of America. May God bless the United States.

We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. God knows who we are from the moment He created us inside the womb of our mother. Without God we are nothing and we cannot stand on our own. We see how desperate the lives of people who are separated from God, they are like flowers that easily fade away and a wave tossed in the ocean. Life without God is dead. We will only find the true joy and happiness if we are close and connected to God.
Who we are in the eyes of the Lord? Let's give time to reflect and seek ourselves if we are worthy to receive His blessings. God see how faithful we are and knows everything about us.

All day today, I was thinking of my grandmother. She passed away ten years ago today. She was the head of the family while she was living. She pushed we to do my best. She instilled the strength to get things done in me. The day she died, we waited to tell Stephen the next day. She died early in the morning of his birthday.
