All Things Noble Are Difficult

Jo Anne and I have decided top read the devotionals in My Utmost For His Highest by Oswald Chambers. I would like to share want I got out of the devotional with you.

Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few. ~ Matthew 7:13-14

Living the Christian life is hard to do sometimes. It is through the difficult times in our life that God makes us more like Jesus. As I read and meditated on the devotional, I got thinking about a rock in a stream. We are like the rock and the water is life. The water carries material that hit the rock and smooths it surface out. These material are the situations in our life.

I also thought about Jo Anne house in the Philippines. The Philippines is hit by many typhoons each year. Her house stands strong through the winds of the storms. God puts us in situations that makes us stronger so we can weather the storms of life. Of course, when a storm is come you need to prepare and after we go through a storm or two we learn how to weather the storm. If we fail to prepare we will not not weather the storm. Like the preparation for the storm, God gave us the Holy Spirit in our lives to prepare for the difficult time in our lives. We will weather the difficult times better the closer we are to the nature of Jesus and with the grace of God.

God has a plan for all of us. He let situations in our lives to prepare us for the job he wants us to do. The reward for seeking God's will in our lives is always greater then the rewards of a worldly life.
