I would like to take a moment to thank all the veterans who serviced my beloved country, the United States of America. We set November 11 aside as Veterans Day or Armistice Day to honor the men and women who serviced in war time or peace time. You are the reason we are free.
Veterans Day was first called Armistice Day to honor the end of World War I on November 11, 1918. World War I ended with the signing of an armistice. An armistice is the agreement to end hostilities while a peace treaty is negotiated. So on this Veterans Day, will you join me in thanking the veterans of our great country.
