Bible Verse Of The Day

Thursday, October 30, 2008

A home is a place of residence or refuge. It is usually a place in which an individual or a family can rest.

Are your houses a home? What must be the atmosphere in a Christian home? Here are the qualities that must be present in a Christian home to obtain a strong foundation so whenever the storms come it will not be easily destroyed.

· H – Harmonious relationship

· O – Open and Honest Communication

· M - Mutuality

· E – Embodiment of Truth

“Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears theses words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” Matthew 7:24-27

You want the foundation of your house to be built on the rock? Let God lead your family and put Him at the center of your relationship, I assure you, your house will never be destroyed no matter how strong is the storm, because your foundation was deep and built on the rock.

My Trip to the Billy Graham Library

Billy Graham is someone that I always have looked up to in my life. As I told you in my entry about my friend, Josh's wedding, I went to the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte, North Carolina as I was heading to the wedding. My friend Will and my mother joined me on the trip and we enjoy the library a great deal. It was so wonderful to see how God has used Billy Graham over the years to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ around the world.

Food Journey: The Great American Dog

This afternoon, while I was running errands in town I stopped in a restaurant called The Great American Dog. It is located at 808 Greenville Highway in Hendersonville, North Carolina next to the Food Lion. I had their Chili Dog combo for $3.99 and it was delicious. The lady who took my order told me the hot dogs have a natural skin and are made in Massachusetts. They also fresh cut the fries and hand bread their onion rings and chicken tenders right there in the store. One thing I like is that they have RC Cola and Cheerwine fountain drinks with free refills. If you are in Hendersonville, stop at The Great American Dog for lunch or dinner. When you see their clean restaurant and taste their wonderful food, you will be glad you did.

“God’s Generous Provision in times of Crisis”

Many people now are worrying about the economic crisis happening all over the world. It is true that we see and feel the effect of this crisis but still we have enough to survive for our everyday needs. I believe this things happen to be an eye opener to all the people. May this difficult times teach us a lesson, makes us more stronger and deepens our faith to God. I just want to share this verses from the Bible and may His Word enlighten us, gives us comfort and remove all our worries.

“The Lord is faithful to his promises; he is merciful in all his acts. He helps those who are in trouble; he lifts those who have fallen.

All living things look hopefully to you, and you give them food when they need it. You give them enough and satisfy the needs of all.

The Lord is righteous in all he does, merciful in all his acts. He is near to those who call to him, who call to him with sincerity.

He supplies the needs of those who honor him; he hears their cries and saves them. He protects everyone who loves him, but he will destroy the wicked.

I will always praise the Lord; let all his creatures praise his holy name forever.

Psalm 145:13b-21

God is faithful to His promises so let’s give all our worries to Him because He is in control of everything. God is with us at this time of crisis because our God is a God at all times.

Economic Crisis Bailout Plans

While the Congress and the President are still talking about more Bailout plans. The $700 Billion plan just passed and the Economic Stimulus Check are already going to cause our taxes to do up in the future. My big question is why should I have to pay for other people's greed and stupidity. I am not talking about people who lost their jobs here. Many people where given loans for home they could not afford in the first place.

People should be required to come up with 20 percent down when buying a house. I believe that if they are able to come up with the 20 percent down that they would be less likely to be foreclosed on or be able to sell the house to avoid foreclosure. I encourage people to get out of debt and to have an emergency fund. Let face it there is very few things the government fixes. Most of the time it ends up making things worse.

We are just in the down side of the economic cycle. Things will get better even with no government help. The best thing the government can do is cut taxes for the hard working tax payers and stop handing the money out to people who do not want to work. Since people like to have programs in school for this and that, lets teach our children how to balance a check book and make and keep a budget. Save up money to get the big screen Television or new computer instead of getting a loan to buy it. Being debt-free gives you more freedom to buy great things and you also enjoy them more. You will enjoy thing that do not have a monthly payment with it.

On the Side of SC Hwy 11

On the part of SC Hwy 11 that runs with US Hwy 276 near Cleveland, South Carolina in a place you can pull off on the side of the road. Right on the side of the road in a pool that you can go wading in. Also, there is a trail the follow the creek above the waterfalls the pool at the bottom of. Sometimes you can find treasures on the side of the road.

The Bailout Plan

While last Friday, Congress and the President decided not to listen to the American people and passed the $700 Billion Bailout Plan. The United States' Economy has been through a lot worst events and survived without government help. Why should I and other hard working taxpayers have to paid for other people's stupidity and greed?

I would like to thank Elizabeth Dole, one of my Senators, and Heath Shuler, my Representative in the House of Representatives, for listen to the people and voting against the Bailout Bill. I like to say that both Elizabeth Dole (Republican) and Heath Shuler (Democrat) have my vote in November.

Bald Rock Heritage Preserve

Here are the pictures I took at the Bald Rock Heritage Preserve. Bald Rock Heritage Preserve is just off the side of the road on US Hwy 276 in Greenville County, South Carolina. I took time to read the Bible and pray while here. It relaxing as you look over the wonderful sight of God's work.
