What are the true Treasures of Life? We call Gold, Sliver, and Diamonds treasures. Many of us treasure money, big houses, and nice cars with a great sound system in them. But in the end all these thing do not matter one bit. They are worth nothing to us or the people who care about us. In the end the biggest treasure for us is the blood of Jesus that saves us from the separation from God that our sin causes us. Outside of that what do people treasure when we died. While on January 7th, a dear friend of mine pass away from Lung Cancer. In going to the visitation and funeral no one talked about the cars, house, or money he had while he was alive. His friends and family talked about time he spent with them being a friend to them. As you see the true Treasure of Life are our true friends. I will miss the treasure that John Floyd Conner was to me. In the last few week of his life Floyd spent his life passing blessing on to the people that came to spend time with him. He prayed for them instead of himself. I was one of those people that is something I will treasure more then any gift someone can gave me. I have setup an online memorial for Floyd on Find A Grave.
Floyd is just one example of a treasure God has blessed me with and I hope that I am a treasure to the people who call me a friend. My friends are my greatest treasures outside of God and my family.
Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. - John 15:13 (English Standard Version)
